Hi, I'm very concerned about the garbage collection situation at our apartments. Does any of you have concerns? Any ideas on how to address this? -admin

Hi all, The bin situation does seem pretty bad and is an ongoing issue! It doesn't seem to be properly emptied on a weekly/fortnightly basis. I would assume that we should contact "Remus", the managing agent? The manual says that their number is 02033010498.

Hi I am Tania from flat 14.
I have contacted the manager at Remus on a couple of occasions about the garbage area being terrible and it was addressed once.
People have been dumping their old things there too. This I had not addressed with Remus. Thus was inconsiderate of the people who did this. I believe the council collects things like this for a fairly low cost.

Hi, I am Gunter from flat 5. I have also contacted Remus this week regarding the overflowing bins in the refuse room and the fact that the bins are often not being put outside in time for the collections, so that collections get missed. So far, I have not had any reply from Remus.

I received the below message from our management agent:
There are several problems relating to the refuse rooms that are a cause for concern. Firstly residents are placing large household furniture in the refuse rooms which are not collected by the council, we have to arrange a contractor to remove them at a cost to the service charge. Secondly, the recycling bins are being contaminated by general waste, due to this the recycling collection crews will not empty them, leaving them to overflow . Thirdly, there were no drop curbs installed to allow the crews to empty the bins and therefore it was down to the cleaners to do this, unfortunately on some occasions the bin crews arrive prior to cleaners being on site which meant they were missed.
The drop curbs have now been installed and the bin crew have fobs to access the stores so collections should no longer be missed. On top of this I have arranged for an additional collection to take place to empty all bins including the contaminated ones. This should be completed by tomorrow.
This has also been completed, all non-domestic waste was removed and the bin men now have the required fobs to empty the refuse & recycling bins.
